The Smart Key is a unique feature of the Iriver Clix that users can set to function in over 5 different ways, according to the available options. This guide will show you how to program the smart key, and what you can make it do.

With the Clix on and past the start-up screen, go down to settings.

In settings, go down and press right to select 'Smart Key'.

select the function of your choice by pressing right on anything in the Smart key options menu.

Will send the user straight to the Clix home screen when pressed.

As it says, plays or pauses any music or audio that is playing.

Plays and shuffles all music and audio books when pressed.

Note the symbol in the top right of the screen that indicates that it's in shuffle mode.

Rotates the display from landscape to portrait mode, and vice versa when pressed.

Takes the user to the recorder program and automatically starts recording voice.

when pressed, the Smart Key adds whatever you may be listening to into the Quick List playlist on the Clix.
