Are the displays interchangeable?

I have a MBP 1260 with a cracked LCD and a MBP 1211 with several things wrong on the logic board. Wondering if I can swap the display assemblies or even just the panel if that works better. I know that the display from the 1211 is cfl backlight and the 1260 is LED backlight but the replacement guides look to be the same process so wondering if it'll work.

I have nothing to lose trying it since both machines are kind of unusable but if it is know that this won't work then I won't bother.
