Hans, I do not share the opinion on the ability to replace the glass by a DIY'er with my colleague. Putting things back together will require peeling off and replacing all of the original adhesive, which will be a major pain for repairers." So is it possible? Certainly by people that have the right equipment and plenty of experience. If the ifixit team with all their resources and experiences in teardown have problems with this, I am convinced that the occasional fixer will have great trouble doing it. Just because the part is available does not mean that it is a task we can do. I'd suggest to replace the complete assembly. Part number for the assembly is 661-7109
