Should the yellow wrapping around the replacement battery be removed?
My replacement battery is covered with yellow tape and a cardboard end piece over the cable attachment site. Should this all be removed? I see no mention of this in the guide or other questions.
I'm guessing it stays since adhesive is applied to it as well as the little bit of battery surface that is exposed. However I had to snip open a section to gain a few millimeters of length in the cable.
I don't want to create a heating or fire hazard by leaving on the "packaging", but I'm not sure if this is really a problem.

I am looking at a battery right now and I do not see what you see. Any chance you could post an image with your question?
