Repair of screen went wrong, phone inop. Is it worth fixing?

My screen shattered. I bought a replacement but purchased an iPhone 5 repair kit rather than the 5s by mistake. My husband proceeded with the repair using instructions for the 5s (since my phone is a 5s). Soon after starting repair he realized he was trying to install the WRONG screen, but apparently had already damaged some little part inside by following the 5s instructions on the 5 screen. They are subtly different. We purchased correct screen, put it on, but touch screen is intermittent at best. Jumpy. Is this phone worth trying to fix? It's a 16g which I thought would be fine but 16 is not enough for my use. I'm just wondering if the phone is worth anything.
