I cannot see how the keyboard having incoming fluid should affect the magsafe 2 port board, but if you rotate and flip the laptop enough I am sure that eventually the fluids might reach there. I managed to douse half a cup of coffee on my 2014 Mid MBPR and have learned a thing or 2 since then.
#1 Don’t pick it up!
#2 Push and hold the power OFF Button. While also pulling out any power cords/external cables.#
#3 Flip it over- keyboard flat against a flat surface like towel.
#4 Now Pray.
#5 Depending on Rich or Poor. Make appropriate choices. Look for a pentalobe screwdriver and bag of dust free rice.
If you cannot afford to have a bowl of pre-washed rice standing by then about 50 silica gel packages, or vermiculite kitty litter sachets. Then place all in a tray in a very low oven or sunlight. Must have lower humidity to suck up the offending fluids.
#6 Remove those 10 pesky tiny infantile pretentious sub #??? screws. Do not forget where the short ones went . And if one drops or goes missing do not reassemble. REPEAT do not reassemble and turn on your Apple device. For it is know that when a $*I(%^ screw goes missing it will be later found as the source of your newly & freshly screwed Apple device being toast.
#7 You got this far? If drying does not work. you have a short, or nicked circuit somewhere, Louis Rossman knows where, watch his video or start guessing like the rest of us. Hope you get lucky and it is ONLY a DC in board <$40.
I was shorted by the pesky screw lodging itself in the %#*@ magsafe 2 MAGNETIC field and shorting upon linking the cord & LIVE power supply back up. Actually it would not mate, because of the offending interruption which of course screwed me, or should I say scred the MacBook Pro. Best wishes. The power supply is alive and well.
