Can I upgrade logic board on mid 2009

I have MacBook Air 13" mid 2009 with El Capitan installed. EC requires 4GB of RAM and I only have 2 which of course causes many problems.

RAM is soldered in so I was wondering if I could replace the logic board with one having 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM? Is this difficult or even possible?

Currently it has 1.86 intel core 2 Duo and 2GB 1067 MHz DDR3 RAM.

If you review the URL link above you can see your system does support El Capitan as is. While you are running tight with only 2GB of RAM your system will leverage Virtual RAM by using your HD or SSD drive.

As to upgrading the RAM on your logic board no that is not possible. Sadly, your system was never offered with more RAM, so swapping it out is not an option either.

If your system has a HD unit you might consider getting a SSD drive so the virtual RAM would be quicker. I would try to clean off 1/3 of the drive so your system is not choking. You also may want to run a defragmentation program so the drive is in better shape.

Otherwise you may want to look for a newer model that offers more RAM (used).
