My monitor screen is black on my Nikon D5300
My screen on my Nikon d53 nook00 is black. It will not turn on. I can't see any of my setting, menu or anything on it. It does take pictures still. Has anyone else had this problem or know what it may be.
Ist dies eine gute Frage?

Hello.
I have a similar issue at the moment with a D5200. The LCD screen of the camera won’t show anything, just a black screen, but not as in turned-off camera screen, more like the LCD is working and emitting light, but its all black and no amount of reseting to factory default settings is working.
Does changing the LCD for a new one will help in this situation?, or does it only help when the screen won’t turn on at all. In my camera’s case is more like its not receiving any signal but the screen is on.

I have the same issue as ecolmi but with a d5300. Replaced the screen but the new one also is backlit and nothing is displayed. Tried googling for an answer with no luck yet....

Did you get your replacement screen from eBay? I did, it should arrive in 1 more week.. lets see how my screen behaves. I saw a comment in another thread about making sure you connected the cables correctly.

I got it from AliExpress. In detail I bought only the display screen without the driver PCB pasted on the back. I am going to order the driver today. Let's see how it goes...

The replacement screen arrived today and after opening the box, realized the "darn" thing is only the screen, just like yours. I will change the old one tomorrow and hopefully I won't needing the board....
By the way, the guide doesn't show if you can remove the LCD from the board. Are they one single piece or glued together?... well, I guess i'll see tomorrow and report how everything went.
EDIT: Decided to stay away until the LCD screen was replaced. New one isn't working either, it just shows a backlit black screen. The PCB looks good and it only had some dirt on it. Perhaps I should also get that new and not just the LCD?... if everything fails what else could it be?... I really don't want to pay ¥34,000 (around 300USD) to fix it, its almost half the price I paid.
