Fixing Skin temperature sensor to LCD skin

What is needed to fix iMac A1419 27" LCD Display Screen Skin Temperature Temp Sensor to LCD screen skin.

I have replaced the screen and had to transfer the temperature sensor from the old to the new screen. I noticed that the sensor was attached to the rear of the screen with what looked like a bit of glue from a glue gun. Additionally it was covered with a piece of black tape.

Is this special type of glue for heat transfer or can I use a glue gun, and can I use any tape to cover it.

Can you explain a bit deeper here. Is AHT reporting a failure or did you damage it some how?

Einstellungen

Only the sensor part is thermally sensitive so you can use any heat resistant tape like: Polyimide Tape. Many off the shelf tapes adhesives breakdown from heat & time.

Make sure the sensor body makes good contact to the mount point I would clean both surfaces and use a heat gun glue to hold it in place on the top just like how Apple did it.

Do you know what denomination value of the sensor ? Is it resistive? Trying to fix my iMac and multimeter measures that sensor as an open circuit. iMac Late 2012 ....

You'll need to use the diode test as it's a transistor.

Dan ,Thanks for the info...i should have assumed it is a transistor...got 3 legs on it!

i've got it! 2 legs connected together! But still ...my multimeter is silent on me here and all i see on a screen "OL" :)

Im awaiting for a new sensor to come on Wednesday.Will keep you informed here....

...It seems the LCD skin sensor was ok after replacing with the new one nothing has changed.Need to get thunderbolt adapter to hookup external display and run Diagnostics!

Lets get a better look at the thermal sensors, install this app TG Pro take a snapshot of the main window showing all of the sensors and fan and post it here for us to see Bilder zu einer vorhandenen Frage hinzufügen

Dan thanks for help and not giving up on my aging iMac! Waiting for Thunderbolt adapter to show up.....

After connecting thunderbolt adapter from iMac to my hdmi equipped monitor the screen is black ......not sure at this point what to do.....
