Das LG V20 ist durch folgende Modellnummern gekennzeichnet: F800, H910, H918, H990 DS Dual, H990N Dual, H990T, LS997, US996 und VS995. Es ist in titan, pink oder silber mit 32/64 GB Speicher verfügbar.

Is it my battery or phone?

Hi. So my phone got peed on by a cat. It didn't seem like it had much damage and the battery seemed untouched by the urine, but I turned my phone off and let it dry with the battery set aside. Just in case. I did get some pee in my phone as the little circle that changes color when your phone is water damaged, changed color. That night my phone shut off on me twice, and from then it escalated. It is now overheating with any use and the battery won't even register with the phone half the time. Whether or not its charging. I tried charging my phone without the battery and it will show up with a logo to put a battery in, then when I put the battery back in, it doesn't register. I got it to briefly work after some persistence but I don't think it'll last long. The issues are getting worse and it's only been 4 days. Is this more of a battery issue from water corrosion/damage or is my phone on its way to die?

As you know any liquid (except distilled water) and electronics and electricity are not a good mix.

The impurities in the liquid causes corrosion and provides circuit paths for the electricity which were not in the phone's operating design and could damage the components. The corrosion process starts immediately and continues until it has been cleaned properly

First do not turn on your phone and then you need to remove the battery as soon as possible from the phone to minimize further damage.''

Then you need to dis-assemble the rest of the phone and clean all the affected parts using Isopropyl Alcohol 90%+ (available at most pharmacies),to remove all traces of corrosion and liquids. Do not use "rubbing alcohol" as in some cases this is only 70% or less, can contain scents and is not as effective. If you do check the label to verify the amount of IPA

Electronics Water Damage

As always with electronics, especially surface mounted PCBs be gentle when handling and especially when brushing away the corrosion. You do not want to remove any components from the board.

Hopefully after you have done all this the phone might possibly work correctly again.

If this process seems too daunting, take your phone to a reputable, professional mobile phone repair service experienced in water damage repair and ask for a quote for a repair.

If you decide to do this, do it sooner than later.
