Can I upgrade my 5th generation 30 GB hard drive?
Are there other generation slim hard drives that I can use to upgrade my 30 GB 5th generation drive with?

The 5th gen Classic drive is interchangeable but beware that the 30GB use a slim drive. So what you need to look out for is the thickness of the drive. Here are the specs from a 6th gen HDD that has the same dimension. Anything else you will need to replace the back, the battery and the head phone jack as well as the bumpers.
