Unit is 2 years old with light use. Battery is fully charged, however unit is working properly only for bout 20-30 seconds after that seams to be losing power. Powering on and off the unit gives another 20 seconds of use. By switching on and off it can function like this for some time.
Ist dies eine gute Frage?

Thanks everyone for your feedback! Replacing the batteries solved the problem in my case.
Original batteries weren’t available when I was searching. I managed to swap the batteries with the “SAMSUNG-30Q-18650-3000-FLAT“. So far everything works perfectly.

By Swap - do you mean dropped them into the plastic container and all was well, or did you have to cut/soder/finagle?
By 'swap' I mean cut / replace & solder the new batteries
How many batteries all together for this unit?
I just opened up my 20V Pivot, and it also has 5 of the batteries.
Hi, I used the same model battery SAMSUNG-30Q-18650-3000-FLAT (with solder tabs) but only replaced the one offending cell that was failing. You can determine this by measuring the temperature of the batteries during the 30 second running of the motor. Just as the motor would stop one of the cells was reaching a temp > 110 DegF using IR, while the others were ~ 90. Cut and replaced that cell and working well now.

this sounds like a battery that is starting to fail. It may charge but does not hold a charge. I’d replace the battery and then re-evaluate. Black and Decker Pivot MAX Akku tauschen

Unit uses 5x LG HB7 18650 1500mAh 15A Battery "LGDAHB71865 - P091C313A1". I can't seam to find these exact batteries to replace, any idea of a great alternative and/or were to buy them? Thanks

It`s normal that after 2 years of charging/recharing , bateries lost it`s performance. But it`s no problem to exchange beteries. In this vacum model you need to buy any Li-Ion 18650 bateries (5 pieces for 18V model) . You need to remember only, to buy orginal bateries: (LG, Panasonic, Samsung etc). LG are dedicated for this modl but can be any other Lithium !! Capacity between 2500 - 3500 mAh Vacum has biulded BMS module only for this king of bateries. Exchange is very simple for each person who have basic knowledge about electronics or buildings RC battery package.

The 18650 Li-ion is becoming very common and can be purchased even at Walmart. However be sure to buy them with the proper terminal for your use. The standard ‘D’ or ‘AA’ ends that fit into a holder like a flashlight or TV remote shold not be used in a tool that requires a ‘tab’ on the battery for soldering to a wire.

I have the same problem with the DV1815El-QW , 2 years old! Lithiumm battery should works more than 2 years!!!
I am also looking for battery replacement.
Do you know where I can find them?

Why do people tell everyone they have the same problem to a question that has been already asked? You are supposed to provide answers here not tell us you have the same problem. I see this over and over and its annoying as Hillary.

Slappy ! You are well named and I laughed out loud......there is a circuit board attatched to the battery, my advice? Skip it ! BUY a new one with replaceble batteries!
