HDMI lightning IPad cable
I bought an hdmi-lightning cable to mirror my iPad onto the tv. All was good until I forgot the cable was connected and moved away whilst holding the iPad. The lightning end just broke clean.
the cable is £10 so I’m trying to salvage it, any ideas please?
one idea I had is to cut the cable at the lightning end and cut a usb extension cable I have at home near the female end. Then solder the wires matching wire colours hence creating an hdmi female usb cable… then connect this to my iPad via the standard iPad cable. Any thoughts on this please? Anything to watch out for if I go down this route?
is there a better route?
many thanks.

Thank you so much for your advice.
The cable that I bought is like this one https://www.amazon.com/Lightning-T-CORE-...
and the lighting end tip (just the tip) snapped off as I moved away with the iPad in my hand. I will attach a photo…

i have now chopped off the broken lightning end and it shows just the four wire as seen in the attached photo. So would my idea now work? ie, connect these four wires to the female usb connector of an existing usb extension cable (by matching wire colour) and then use the standard iPad usb/ lighting cable to connect to the iPad.
Ist dies eine gute Frage?
