Speaker sound distorted after cleaning with alcohol
I cleaned the exterior of my iPod with 90% Isopropyl Alcohol. Now my speaker is muffled and scratchy. Can alcohol damage the speaker?

There is no internal speaker, aside from the “beeper” speaker that’s designed for the "Clicker” and “Diagnostics” system. Is it that?
Also, have you replaced the battery or put flash storage in? Because if so, the speaker could be misaligned, not connecting properly, or blown. If you want to, pop it open and see.
