Logic board compatibility 30GB in 60GB

I have an Ipod Classic 5th Gen A1136 and I pulled the battery connector from the logic board while removing the cable. That’s what you get for rushing :) I am wondering if a logic board from the 30GB Ipod of the same generation will fit into mine ? I believe that the 30 and 60GB use the same early board and are compatible but prefer to check before purchasing the 30GB one. Thanks in advance.

Man that was quick, I hadn't even logged out yet @oldturkey03 :) I was just reading about some HDD upgrades as well and you have contributed some valuable answers there too. I thank you and have a great weekend.

@oldturkey03 if you are still around, I was just thinking that seeing as the Ipod I might buy appears to have a better LCD screen than mine, can I just put my 60GB HDD straight into it please ? I would assume so from what I have read here. Thanks.

@pedro147 yes you can. If your original iPod was a 60GB you are okay, if it was a 30GB you need a thinner battery (the one for the 30GB is thinner so stick with it)
