Seems pretty self-explanatory to me. You will need to install a new drive:

MacBook Air 13" Mitte 2011 SSD Laufwerk austauschen

If so he telling you that it came with no hard drive

So it bound to give you a message like

“Hardrive not detect and no storage”

storage (Data) is stored on a Hard Drive

So you be looking for the model number of the unit to get parts for it
