iPhone XR: Where is the NFC Antenna and how do I correctly install it?

Hi I recently had to do a repair on my iPhone Xr as the lock button was completely stuck in and was stopping me from booting up and doing updates. So I had to follow the instructions on her to take out the logic board so I could do the repair.

Since then I haven’t been able to use apple pay - I have tried manually launching it from apple wallet.

So I’m guessing I’ve affected the NFC antenna somehow. Does anyone know where this is and how it connects on the XR? When I’ve done a google the only thing that comes up is a replacement antenna but it says it’s for Bluetooth as well so I’m not too sure if that’s right as Bluetooth is working fine - if it’s a shared antenna I’d have thought both wouldn’t be working.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, many vendors use the same description (mixing bluetooth and NFC) so I guess this could be same. but NFC and bluetooth technology are different in many way (active/passive, frequency) so if they share the same stuff, a damage for one function could affect the other one or not...

It seems ‘anywhere’ ‘anybody’ avoids to answer this question.

The ‘how do I correctly’ replace it?

Wonder why!

I realize this is an older question, but in the interest of making the information available. I believe this is the NFC antenna and would absolutely make sense as to why it might have been malfunctioning after power button issues since it sits in that same area. I know the upper cowling on the XR is also a bit fussy because of the little grounding clip which also screws into one end of the antenna.

Also, in my experience bluetooth and wifi are much more likely to share an antenna or other hardware because they both operate on 2.4 GHz, so I would be less likely to think it’s shared between NFC and bluetooth. Especially since NFC operates on a much different frequency (13.56 MHz).
