Is the MacBook Air keyboard working without a trackpad connected?

I have a question , since they are using the same cable: is the MacBook Air 2018 model keyboard working without a connected trackpad?

Yes, I have a water damaged trackpad and I’m not sure if the keyboard is broken too.

I disassembled the trackpad and only the Keyboard is Connected. But the system is not finding the connected keyboard so I thought maybe they only work together with this daisy chained flex cable.

I will try out again after I’ve cleaned the trackpad.

After testing with new trackpad I can confirm that the Keyboard is Daisy chained with the Trackpad. Keyboard will not work without Trackpad.
