Thick black vertical band on right side of screen, appeared out of nowhere (Macbook Air 13", 2019). I've restarted it and reset the PRAM, it's still there. Help!

Hardware issue, torn screen cable, replace the entire top half of the computer.

Sadly, you damaged the display assembly. Is your system still covered by AppleCare warranty? Do you have AppleCare+ services contract? That might be a way to get your system fixed for free or at a reduced cost.
