I have a 2005 Ford Focus ZX4. My engine runs but when I shift it into reverse or neutral, drive etc. it wont shift so I can go. The tow guy said it’s my shift linkage because he could shift it from underneath the car into the correct gear while running (and when car isn’t running.)After he shifted it into reverse or drive I could actually drive the car in reverse or drive.
Ist dies eine gute Frage?

@deucenova you already have the diagnosis. You have a failed shift linkage (cable). There are some decent instructions on here (different model same idea) but you should really consider creating a guide for the rest of us when you do the repair. https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/new
