Replaced game card reader - Still broken plus unresponsive screen!

The game card slot on my Nintendo switch had bent pins and wasn’t reading games. I purchased a replacement from iFixit and followed the instructions. I’ve done a few screen/part replacements on other devices before and it was pretty straight forward.

After replacing the game slot still does not work. Even worse - now the touch screen is unresponsive! I’m now out the $ for the replacement part and my switch is in a worse place than before. Any ideas how this could be?
