The highest version this system can support is OS-X Lion (10.7.5)

Be aware this system only has a SATA I (1.5 Gb/s) drive interface so the you do need to review your given SSD’s spec sheet to make sure it will work. As an example this is one of the few SSD’s that would work Samsung 860 EVO SSD Note the Interface line: SATA 6 Gbps Interface, compatible with SATA 3 Gbps & 1.5 Gbps interfaces Make sure what ever drive you get clearly states SATA I (1.5Gb/s) is supported, if not return it.

Here’s the full specs of your system: 13” MacBook 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo

@montoya1968 - Sadly, it won't work as you've noted: SATA Rev. 3.0 (6Gb/s) – with backwards compatibility to SATA Rev. 2.0 (3Gb/s) You need a SSD which offers 1.5 Gb/s support (what many call out as SATA I)
