Why does my laptop make sounds?
Hi guys, If I use my laptop for a long time and if I want to close it, it requires a bit more pressure and I hear some noise while closing it

Boy thats a serious Thump sound! I was expecting a squeak of the hinge pin.
This is a bit more as the alignment of the hinge is off so when you hit a give spot the lid shell deforms. Similar to how a concentric jam/pickle jar lids make a noise when you pop them open the first time or distort them in your hand, here the whole lid is making the sound.
I would bring the system into an Apple Store or authorized Apple reseller to have the system fixed under warranty as the lid hinges have shifted somehow.

The genius needs to take the ear plugs out o find a quiet space to listen!
I would go back and talk with the service manager. Even my dog sitting next to me can hear it (he jumped). It's not normal.
Find an old jar lid that you can demonstrate the issue, using your finger to pop it and explain the hinge alignment is messed up which is the cause. I'm sure the display models won't have the issue.

@danj They heard it and opened the back too. But they said nothing was unusual. They also said I have to change the display or they would find what has been done to others withe same problem and give me the same soln
