Recently put in new switches, now scroll wheel and switches wont work.

Hello, I recently wanted to change the switches of my Logitech GPW superlight. I did this before on a G703, and it all went smoothly. Just now, I tried turning on the mouse and plugging it in. It did turn on, and the cursor was moving as I moved the mouse. But the switches and scroll wheel did not work. I checked my soldering and it is touching the plates, when desoldering the switches I didn’t see any plate come off. I kept the heat of my soldering iron at 350 C the entire time, which is the same temperature I used on the g703, and I replugged all the cables inside the mouse. Can I have some help?

Also, Ive seen people use 370 C for the same mouse, There is some brown crusty things at the edges of the solder, but my dad said that is just flux residue.

Do you still have the old switches?

I think the problem has to do with the ribbon cable, it just doesn't go into the receptacle at the top PCB fully, I don't know why, it just doesn't.

Some additional photos would be better for diagnosis. I have upgraded 6 g pro wireless mice till now.

Firstly, what i have noticed is if the replacement switches are for example Kailh mute (red dot) with 2 pins, it doesn’t register any clicks. You have to use a replacement switch with 3 pins for this mouse i.e., Kailh GM8.0, Omron D2F-01F Japan etc.

Secondly, there is a small SMD component beside the connector. That can be easily knocked off while removing the cable.

Thirdly, pull the white tabs to release the flex cable and re-plug the cable until the line above J2 lines up with the black edge of the connector.

Fourthly, when connecting the flex cable to motherboard, you have to align the line parallel to connector and the cable must be completely pushed in, plastic tab lever must be pulled down so that the cable is secure. Just by connecting it and not tightening the tab will not make a full connection even for testing purposes.

Adding some photos of how it must look like. Just to keep facts straight, that pcb rework was done by me as someone’s prior repair attempt removed all the traces from pcb. I had to use a jumper wire to connect it with pcb. I got the mouse for free. Chinese ready made pcb boards are available but i had problems with the encoder they had used. the flex connector also looks different.
