New battery still draining

Hi, I replaced the battery in my old iPhone 7 and it is still draining rather quickly and the phone even generates a little heat sometimes. What’s wrong?

Ist dies eine gute Frage?

@berrypatchit is right, could be certain apps. But, I also recommend contacting the person/company that you bought the battery from. Could be a faulty one.

Check to see what is draining power. Remember that most app’s now use more power that when your phone was made. When we do battery replacements we use the higher amp battery to help with this.

Hi. I get battery drain & I’m not sure if this helps & these steps are very Tedious. I have an android Galaxy S6 that has a built-in battery. It used to get really HOT but I found out a lot about the battery usage/drain. But I’m sure many features are similar in all makes of phones. {1} If you have several apps open such as WiFi, Facebook, Bluetooth, Screen Rotation etc…Toggle them off when not using. They’ll “wake up” when clicked on. My sister refused to believe that this is what was causing her battery drain & kept replacing her chargers thinking that was the problem- not. She was afraid she’d be signed out of FB & wouldn’t be able to get back in if she forgot her password. {2} I can go to Settings> Battery: Set it to save power. From there I can put Apps to sleep, will wake up when click to use. {3} Also go to Settings: Apps>Application Manager: Then go thru EVERY app to Restrict the app from running in the Background by clicking on Mobile Data Usage>Toggle the switch to Off. But for Android Google Play store App, I have to turn it on in order to download or update any apps. Remember to turn it off again- updaters eat Battery & Data in no time due to running in the background to install updates & whatever else it’s capable of doing (I’m on a 2GB plan…yeah, I know) But even if U have unlimited they can throttle your speed if U use a lot of Data. {4} Go to the settings per app like Facebook & disable the Notifications being sent to your phone, same with the Sync settings for email. {5} Turn off Auto Updates, do them manually. {6} Delete Texts, Call History & Contacts you don’t need. {7} Clear Cache anywhere possible and Search History. Go to browser settings> under Advanced >Site Settings Clear them. I hope you are able to find similar settings for I-phone. (& I hope I didn’t make you sorry that u asked, LOL).
