Thinkpad P1 Gen2 Battery

Bought a new battery from ifixit. Thinkpad P1 Gen2. Battery fits perfectly but windows says issues error or battery not detected. Is this a cable issue or some proprietary setting Lenovo has on Thinkpads? I have disabled in bios, uninstalled drivers, removed Lenovo Vantage with no results. Thinkpad will not charge the battery or accept it.
