My right joycon won’t work at all

My right joycon for my switch won’t work. It doesn’t connect to my switch when attached or wirelessly. It won’t turn on either. I’ve tried to charge it, but it doesn’t do anything. It doesn’t seem to be damaged from the looks of it, except the bottom of the part that attaches it seems to be coming out a bit. Do i need to buy a new joycon?
