Hi @parkereve the DJI Mini 2 requires the iOS 11.0 or above and in my research it looks like your phone must also have a 64 bit OS and Hardware. I've looked up the iPhone 7 and it should have the 64 bit OS so you just have to make sure you've been updating the operating system and that it's on iOS 11.0 or higher. Thanks!

rubbish I use an Iphone 6S, for crying out loud

This is somewhat outdated now I guess, but I've been using an iPhone 6S that's already doing the job very well! I've switched to an iPad Air2 for somewhat more readability and enjoying the scenery with others at the same time. You'll best have one of those plastic extender hooks to clip it on your RC.
