power goes on but engine will not speed up
Engine works but does not increase speed when the speed dial is turned. continues at very low speed

peter netsua your A701 uses a speed controller. You want to check on that. Make sure that all the wires are connected, that the capacitors are still in working order and check the triac. Use something like this and some more on here as your guide. Post some images of what you find on yours so we can try and help you further. This Kenwood A701 A701a is the SM for your mixer and should help you with working on this mixer. It's a great mixer and repairing it is definitely feasible and the right thing to do.

Is It possible that the motor is under strain from food building up inside of it the other thing I would do is check if there is any rust inside.
