Background
Released on October 25, 2015, the Afterglow Prismatic Wired Controller is an Xbox One controller produced by video game accessory company, PDP. Microsoft officially licenses the controller for Xbox One, but it is also compatible with the Xbox X series.
The Afterglow Prismatic also offers a 3.55 mm headset jack that supports game and chat audio. The onboard audio controls allow gamers to easily access and adjust audio levels without interrupting game time.
A common issue with the Afterglow controller is that it may not turn on or the white status LED may fail to light up. To troubleshoot these problems, try the following:
- Ensure the Xbox One is turned on and running properly
- Make sure the cable is completely plugged in to both the console and the controller.
- Unplug the USB cable from the controller and plug it back in.
- If the problem is with the analog sticks or triggers, the controller may need to be recalibrated. If so, contact PDP Customer Support.
Identification
The Afterglow Prismatic features built-in LED lighting that allows users to select a single color, cycle through multiple colors, or turn the lighting off completely. The controller’s clear polycarbonate casing reveals the internal circuitry.
Like other controllers licensed for Xbox, an Xbox guide button is located at the top center of the controller. The Afterglow logo is also visible beneath the transparent casing near the center of the device. To confirm your controller model, check the silver label on the back of the controller, where the model name and number are printed.
