Bosch 1587AVS

The Bosch 1587AVS is a jigsaw manufactured and sold by the Company Bosch and released in 1997. This tool is used by both professionals and home fixers for cutting irregular shapes in different materials. It can cut wood, plastic, aluminum, and other metals. The jigsaw is powered exclusively by a connected cord and operated by hand with a trigger on the grip and operational switches on the device. The device comes with a single replaceable blade, chip blower, and a steel footplate.

Currently, this model is not being sold by Bosch as it is discontinued. It is still available to purchase second-hand for under $100, but varies significantly based on condition. Its parts are also still being sold by third-party vendors (see Additional Info for more information). Additionally, Bosch has released many other jigsaw models that can be found on their website.

Since the tool was discontinued over 20 years ago, there is very little information available on this model.

The Bosh 1587AVS has a single detachable blade, one handle to operate it, and a single cord to power the tool. On the handle, there is a single trigger which controls the speed of the blade. Opposite of this is a steel footplate on the bottom of the tool, meant for the tool to rest on and be guided properly when cutting material. This model can be Identified by the Bosch logo, which is the companies name in bold red text, and it can be identified by the model number displayed prominently on the side of the tool.
