Shark Apex DuoClean Powered Lift-Away AZ1002 Repair

The Shark APEX Lift-Away AZ1002 was released on October 15th, 2018. Shark highlights the DuoClean and Zero-M technology in most of its newer vacuums, like with the AZ1002. This model has additions not features in the previous model, the AX912 or the Shark Apex DuoClean Powered Lift Away. The AZ1002 has a self-cleaning brush roll equipped with bristle guards and a comb that aims at removing hair for hassle-free maintenance. It additionally has LED lights on the nozzle, unlike the AX912.

The DuoClean technology is featured in many Shark products and is meant to allow users to clean both carpets and hardwood. The HEPA filter is part of this vacuum's anti-allergen feature, and traps dust in the air.

The active glide technology aims to give smooth transitions between hard floors and carpets while maintaining suction strength. This vacuum is geared to families seeking effective pet hair removal solutions. There have been no recalls for this product, and the units sold and sold/manufactured are currently unknown to the public.

Currently priced at $340.30 on Amazon and $449.99 on the Shark website, this upright vacuum operates at 1350 watts and features a 5.5-foot hose length. It comes complete with a brush roll, upholstery tool, pet tool, and crevice tool, all weighing approximately 16 pounds.

The AZ1002 is one of Shark’s upright lift-away vacuums in its flagship APEX lineup. The APEX series was superseded by the AZ2000 Vertex lineup in 2020, which in turn was replaced with the AZ3000 Stratos lineup in 2022.

This model can be identified from other vacuums in the AZ1000 series by its anti-allergen HEPA filter and its pet-specific cleaning brushes. The AZ1002 has LED lights, is equipped with multi-purpose cleaning for hardwood and carpet, and has a self-cleaning brushroll. All of these together set the vacuum apart from others in the APEX lineup.
