Table Caption: This table categorizes various features, controls, and operational aspects of a transmitter, linking their descriptions to specific section and illustration numbers. It serves as a navigational aid for understanding the transmitter's components and functionalities.
1.0 introduction
1.1 DISTINCTIVE FEATURES
EscORT has many distinctive features but three features are particularly unique:
ESCORT can be igured at the factory to Work With almost any type ECG telemetry transmitter available today _ Consequently ESCORT can usually be configured to Work With your existing transmitters_ conf_
- EscORT has a multi channel receiver that permits YOU to select and monitor any one (EscORT 1000) any (EscoRT 2000) of up to 360 telemetry patients_ The number of patients that the ESCORT can select varies With the type of transmitter used _
- ESCORT is very compact a includes an option for battery power operation Which permits portable applications_
The ESCORT is a dual trace single channel ECG monitor Which receives ECG via telemetry. The EscoRT 2000 is a dual trace, dual channel, telemetry ECG monitor. The two models operate similarly _ The major difference between the models is that the ESCORT 1 000 monitors one patient at a time and the ESCORT 2000 monitors two patients simultaneously.
The ESCORT 000/2000 is designed to minimize the number of functions which confront the user at any one time_ Some keys (fixed function keys) are visible and functioninq at all times. Other less frequently used functions are visible and functioning only on an as needed basis_ The four variable function keys are called "softkeys" The four softkeys are located immediately below the display Labels for the four softkeys are displayed on the screen Softkey labels are located above each respective soft key key key .
1.2 SYSTEM ConfiguRATIONS AND OPTIONS
The ESCORT 1000 (single patient) and the ESCORT 2000 (dual patient) can be configured at the factory to receive telemetry ECG from almost any telemetry transmitter currently available_ Some monitoring features may Or may not be provided depending upon the capabilities and transmission techniques of the transmitter _ Low battery, lead fail, remote record; and cal are all features With signals that normally originate at the transmitter_ See TABLE 1 to determine feature compatibility between ESCORT and the various transmitters_

Table Caption: This table lists various transmitters and indicates which signals (LOW BAT, REMOTE RECORD, LEAD FAIL, CAL) they support with a "YES" or "NO".
In many applications the ESCORT 1000/2000 Will be used to receive ECG signals from the customer S existing transmitters For example, the ESCORT 1 000/2000 can be brought to a telemetry patient bedside to monitor the patient in parallel With the hospital' s primary monitoring system located at the central station_ In this situation ESCORT provides bedside monitoring With no need for additional patient cables electrodes_
1.3 SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
When operating ESCORT from an AC power source, the wall receptacle must be a three-Wire, grounded, hospital grade outlet. Since the ESCORT 1000/2000 is telemetry monitor, all patient contact is via the battery powered transmitter _ Consequently , patient isolation is guaranteed_ If the ESCORT 000/2000 is used in the presence of flammable anesthetics a possible explosion hazard exists_ Never remove ESCORT's enclosure panels since dangerous high voltage Would be exposed. Always refer servicing to qualified personnel _
