Friend spilled a soda on her Macbook Air. It would not boot. When I opened it up it was full of sticky brown goo as seen in first photo.
Meine Reparatur
Once the tool arrived opening the case was a breeze. I wish I had paid more attention to what I ordered. I ordered just the t5 pentalobe "bit" not the handle haha. Live and learn. I just used my manly grip and removed the screws. Unplugged all connectors, removed aircard and SSD. Thoroughly drenched with QD electronics cleaner. Let air dry for three days. Reapplied Arctic Silver to processor, reassembled unit, and fired her up!
Mein Rat
Just make sure you order the right tool. Use a quality electronics cleaner, unplug all connectors and clean all contacts. Don't forget to clean and reapply thermal paste to the processor while you're in there.
