iPhone 6s LCD and Digitizer Replacement

2 Stunden

Moderate

Mein Problem

Even with the otter box if you put it in your back pocket and then fall down a rocky riverbank...you will crack that screen. A sharp rock punctured it right next to the home button.

Meine Reparatur

The breakdown came easier than I expected, but putting it all back together was what took the most time. I had to break down the EMI shield twice after replacing the screen to get the cables correct.

Mein Rat

It's those cables...the long one goes here, the short one goes here...and you must have them layered correctly when you put it back together, because if you don't....you will have to take it back apart. (not all the way, but some) do not try to bend those things around at all, bite the bullet, take it back down and layer them so they lay flat and correct. OR...do it correct the first time and save the aggravation. Don't rush..make sure you have enough time before you begin.

2 hours? That's nuts. I can fix it in like 30 mins tops.

Yo lo hago en 15 minutos o menos

Don't let Alicia get you down. Mobile repair is hard! Glad you got it working (I just did this same thing with my Nexus 6 and broke the motherboard in the process... I got it working eventually with a replacement motherboard)... listen to this guy, take your time! If I had slowed down and moved carefully I would only have to replace the digitizer and not the digitizer AND the motherboard

psssshhhh nothing bothers me about that. I can fix them a lot faster now, but I would not ever consider doing it for a living. Eyesight is way too bad, and my fingers aren’t sensitive enough to handle those little bitty screws. I don’t recall even doing this or taking that long…but I wrote it, so maybe it did LOL I just remember thinking that if I didn’t fix it, I would have to keep using my 4S for years :) Either way don’t rush it…don’t start the project right before you have to have your phone, you could actually just kill it by bending the prongs that the digitizer plugs into on the MB and THEN were will ya be? Hmmmmm??
