Before assuming the camera is broken, lets make sure anything that will prevent the camera from powering on is working correctly. In most cases, a power issue with any device is usually a result of a dead battery. Not all cameras include the battery pack when purchased. Open the battery compartment to see whether or not the camera contains a battery. If there is no battery in the compartment, insert a battery pack and proceed to turn on the camera. If a battery pack does exist, the battery is either drained or diminished. Try charging the battery. Inserting a new, charged battery should power on your device.
