There is probably a way to actually change the led if you can find one that matches the W and Lum. Open it up and look what kind of led that's in there and how it's attached.

You need to clear out the history and cache from Facebook, Safari and so on. If you go into Settings and go thru all your apps and delete cache and history on all of them it should clear out some of that. Then there is your messages, your texts and so on. Clean that out as well.

If there is no other apps that reacts this way I would suggest that you contact the twitter techsupport. Try restart on phone as well i f you didn't try that.

Use any glue that's made for plastic and isn't conductive and you shouldn't have any problems for a short term fix. Ask in your local hardware store.

Since it's been dead for 8 months, most likely no. You could open it up and clean it out and try it again.
