I could not get the antenna adapter cables to mate with the WiFi card. I may have the wrong size of U.FL adapters for this project. The HiRose U.FL catalog shows five or six size options. Any idea on size required for the antennas on the various aluminum iMac models?
IT'S ALIVE!! Have not yet upgraded the WiFi, but Bluetooth and the rest work fine! Wifi drivers are the bane of tinkerers... I am kicking around and update that uses the Broadcom binary blob method used by Linux. Not expecting easy fix, but maybe. I've done worse before.
On my Gusto 2, I had no trouble removing the screws. They aren't captive screws. They are small.
I keep my tools stuck to a voice coil magnet I pulled from a 3.5" hard disk. I haven't had a problem of screwdriver being *too* magnetized, so far.
This step totally confused me.
I call this the "Mute" button.
And of course, the photo is rotated 90 degrees from most of the phitos in steps leading up to this. (These are great photos, by the way.)
Yes, this one is relatively easy.
Anything involving a heat gun is "Difficult ".
Anything involving mandatory spare parts and a heat gun is "Very Difficult ".
