just get vacuum cleaner air freshener (deodorizing sticks or scent tablets). keep it when emptying your dyson, and keep using it by hoovering it in again. the bad smell may not vanish completely, but at least is overlaid by the fragrance.
To wash, use warm soapy water manufacturer recommends for cleaning. I've washed mine with dishwashing liquid used generously under running warm water. That didn't remove the greasy oil spots completely, but at least they vanished a little and got brighter.

the little plastic clip near the rubber foot easily broke when trying to place it back under the metal, but the track pad stays planely closed anyway - and does it’s job again! thanks for the repair help!
btw, I didn’t remove the plastic cover completely - just lifted the corner just as far as the rubber button would fit back in

The proper way to reset the JBL Xtreme: With the Xtreme ON, press and hold the VOL+ and Pause/Play buttons for 5-6 seconds. The Xtreme shuts down, and is now reset.
