try to look online for parts scince they don't make these ones anymore or just buy another teddy and use its parts

if your saying that the whole thing doesn't work at all, (no movement from eyes or mouth or from tape and no sound) I don't know how to fix this

first of all he is made in 1985 by worlds of wonder. which is the version that I'm guessing you have. the problem is either a warped drive belt, a loose battery or connection problem, or most commonly, a dented pinch roller. one of them that I have is a first gen with a metal player. and that one used to have a dented pinch roller. which was causing that start and stop thing. exept mine was doing it faster, causing a blipping sound. so all you have to do is to buy another replacement pinch roller and go from there. good luck!

ive had a teddy like this before. one of the wires for his volume wheel aka power wheel is off and it needs resoldering again.
