Hi There, Another thing you can try yourself is to check if the problem is not just a loose component, you’ll need to open up some/all of the panels though. First thing to try is to remove and re-seat the “easy to get to” components like the RAM and SSD/HDD etc. Also take out the main battery whilst testing, it should be able to start up with the AC adapter alone. A bit more advanced but do-able check is to take the CPU off and re-seat it. but for this you’ll need to get some new thermal compound and you’ll need to remove the old compound with some q-tips and rubbing alcohol from the heatsink and CPU before assembling back together. If it still doesn’t work then the next step is a complete disassembly and testing all components unfortunately, for this it’ll be best to take it in to a repair shop that has the proper spares / testing equipment on hand.
Mehr erfahrenHi There, The problem you’re describing sounds like it could’ve been overheating at one point (hence the switching off suddenly). It’s possible that you might just have a loose component i.e. RAM, GPU or CPU etc. because of the constant overhearing (think thermal expansion & contraction). Worst case a component might be damaged because of the overheating. To check the former you’ll need to take the laptop apart entirely, if it was overheating you’ll most likely see a lot of dust in the cooling system i.e. on the fans and inside the heatsink/s, you’ll need to clean these components properly with a fine brush or with some compressed air if you have it. On the cooling heatsink/s you’ll need to remove the old thermal compound/paste with some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. You will need to buy some new thermal compound before assembling everything back together though. Hopefully after assembling all back together your machine will start up again as per normal and run cool with the cleaned cooling system / new...
Mehr erfahrena 2 part epoxy will be the strongest and it bonds different materials (like steel to plastic for example) together well. Just be careful not to get any of the epoxy on the speaker cone itself as it may affect the sound by dampening the cones’ vibrations.
Mehr erfahrenHi Edwin, The BIOS uses a standard CR2032 battery to keep configs/time etc. If this battery is dead your laptop would still start-up albeit with errors which you can skip or address to continue to boot up into the OS. I’ve seen the white screen issue before and most of the time got it working again by just removing all power sources to the motherboard for a couple of minutes, i.e. remove main power, remove main battery and then BIOS battery, keep everything plugged out for a couple of minutes, insert BIOS battery and then without the main battery just plug in the main power source and see if it will power on or not. Hope this helps, lemme know.
