Hi, this is the actuating pin from the thread tension assembly - when you lift up the presser foot hand lever the upper thread tension assembly should slacken after being activated by this pin. The pin is situated within the screwed shaft at the centre of the tension assembly and this is pushed by a cam on the lift up lever. You can see this if you take off the needle bar/presser bar face plate.

Hi, it sounds like your zigzag mechanism has some old sticky oil deposits on it that may be preventing it from zigging and zagging! Set the machine dial for maximum zigzag, take off the left side needle bar/bulb cover, take the needle bar in your hand & try to move it from side to side - spray some release oil onto the mechanisms and continue trying to move from side to side while rotating the hand wheel. Hopefully this should free up the zigzag.

It sounds like either: (1) a capacitor has blown within the sewing machine (2) incorrect wiring up of replacement foot pedal (3) incompatible foot pedal In any case you will probably need a qualified electrician/sewing machine technician to sort out this problem.

The thread and material will get into a big tangle very quickly - this is a question that does not really need to be asked as you may obtain your answer very promptly and quite easily on your own machine.

Sounds like the machine’s reverse button may be stuck in the ‘pressed’ position. Squirt some WD-40 or similar release oil on the button’s shaft and internals, to free it up.

The top mark on the needle bar should align with the lower edge of the bottom needle bar support bush when the needle is at its lowest position. The bottom mark is used to set the hook point to needle eye timing.

It could be any of a number of issues: (1) thread/needle incompatibility (2) incorrect top/bottom thread tensions (3) blunt, worn or damaged hook (4) timing slightly out * etc. You will need to work through all possibilities, one by one, and, if still a problem then ask a Juki engineer to look at it,

This Zenith model seems to be a Japanese made machine (Brother Toyota Riccar or Mitsubishi etc) with a 'Zenith' badge stuck on for export. I can't recognise which company originally made it, so unable to find a generic or similar manual for it.
