My name is Preston and I am currently a Technical Communications major at Eastern Washington University. I am minoring in my favorite subject of study; history as well. 2024-2025 is my second year at EWU, however, it is my fourth year in college as I previously graduated from Spokane Falls Community College with an AAS degree in Health/Fitness.

My skills primarily lie in my leadership experience. While I was in high school, I became highly dedicated to my sport and I quickly took on the role of mentoring and training fellow athletes. This led me to pursue my degree at SFCC which vastly improved my ability to lead. Not only with coworkers, personal training clients, and fellow athletes but with any group I find myself in. Effective communication is a skill that props up leadership. Without it, you cannot be an effective leader.

The accomplishment that I am most proud of is becoming an NWAC All-American in Track and Field while I was at SFCC. It was the hardest season of competition I have ever experienced and it taught me so much about myself and what I am capable of.

While I've developed my skills as a leader and communicator, I am most looking forward to this project developing my skills as a TECHNICAL communicator. Not only do I expect that this will develop my professional skills, but I also love to learn and better myself personally.

Fun Facts: I can recite the alphabet backward, I love "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" (2008) and I am an avid fan of Ancient Greek history.

This is an image I took of my competition jersey the day before I ran at my first-ever conference meet in college. I had spent so many years training for a championship that never came due to Covid-19, so this particular moment felt like the culmination of everything I had done up to that point. And I came away as an All-American!
