Hello, hello, my name is Catherine Tran. You can call me Cat! It is great to meet you! Currently, I am working as a Graphic Design Assistant for the Masters of Fine Arts Program at UC Davis. I grew up in San Jose, CA and am studying Cognitive Science and Design with a minor in Communications at UC Davis.

Growing up at the center of the Silicon Valley placed a large impact in my love for technology allowing me to develop a very large passion for the design aspects of the intricate digital realm. When I'm not studying or working on my latest projects, you'll likely find me at a cafe with a double shot Hojicha latte in one hand and an everything bagel with basil cream cheese in the other.

Besides what many see me as on the outside, a little about me is that I am also a small business owner. I design digital commissions, from logos to T-shirt designs, and also produce my very own original artwork, selling it online. During the pandemic, I found myself constantly in a loop of boredom, so I turned one of my many treasured passions into a small side gig. Through my small business journey, I've met many other talented individuals who mentored me on ways to improve my business, from marketing strategies to simply figuring out my target audience through the many statistics within my sales.

Within the design aspect of my life, I also hold experience with UI/UX design, following web design. I am one to be able to think on the spot and find innovative solutions that can bring newer perspectives that have not yet been taken accounted for.
