Antwort auf „Battery "Not charging"; Replaced PRAM Battery, no luck”This is a year old question. So, I may be too late to answer it, but I had the same problem. Coconut showed battery life good, charger connected, charging no. I removed the battery with the laptop bottom facing down and a little screw fell out. I reinstalled that battery screw and tightened up the other screw too. In my case, that did it. Now, the battery is charging again. Good luck.
Antwort auf „My computer will not run disks or movies, what do I do”It is probably time to replace the optical drive with another one, but first attempt to clean the leans with a store bought lens cleaner. It looks like a CD/DVD, but it has little brushes attached to it. I'm only suggesting it, because it would be the least expensive thing to try first. If that doesn't work, then you could take it in, or purchase a drive for it and install it yourself. The options are a Superdrive (which burns DVDs and CDs), or a combo drive (which burns CDs, but not DVDs). You'll spend $25 - $60 on something used (don't know if you can find it new). You may also be able to purchase an identical iBook for approximately $100, but be aware of the logic board issues that affected the screen on this one. Also, a broken one for parts with a good drive is an option.
Antwort auf „How the ##%* do I make my MacBook Pro boot?”Congratulations. It is marvelous that you are able to retrieve most of your data. Fortunately, the hard drive is an inexpensive and relatively easy repair for a do it yourself type (appx $50 - $100, depending on the size of drive you choose and where it is purchased). In the future, I would refrain from allowing any type of magnets to be anywhere near the computer, or hard drive.
