Hat geantwortet auf: Other ways inside iPodThe guitar pick idea is good but they are usually too small and flexible. I usually go down to the local tap plastic store and get a sheet of whatever will work for about 5-10 bucks and cut a boatload of "prying etc.." tools from that. take a pod with you and try the various materials and thicknesses. (now that is some serious DIY!) The apple spudger tool (flat end) works well also. Its like a flathead but its made from non conductive material and dose not hold a static charge. Really though, the key is patience. Just keep going around it like a bicycle tire. you will usually get one side up first. Just keep going around...it will pop. I will also admit to using a metal paint scraper. wouldn't recommend that unless your reeeeeeeeely careful. hope this helps. cheers

Hey, matt! Wähle deinen persönlichen Benutzernamen, damit du ifixit noch besser nutzen kannst!
sugestion for everyone that seems to have trouble with those “teeny- tiny” screws. get a magnifying, lighted jewelers headset. this will give you a better view of everything. I have NO prob with the size of any of these parts because of that. it should be a standard part of your repair arsenal if you want to do it right without straining your eyes and/or fumbling.
the adhesive is very strong and does NOT pull free. you MUST use heat (iopener) or similar to apply heat to it. go slow and when (not if) the adhesive snaps you will have to find a way to shove a spudger or an old credit card under the battery. after that, just rub your finger over the adhesive firmly and “roll” it out. this stuff is really nasty.
did NOT remove the front entirely. its not necessary to do this to remove the battery. these are only precautionary steps in case your clumsy or you feel you might not be able to manage it without. as always, be cautious.
on the left side, the markers for the 2.3mm screw and one of the 1.5mm screws are reversed. the 2.3mm screw should be on the "lower" one and the 1.5mm screw should be on "top" as pictured.
the author forgot to mention that you have to remove and reuse the rubber gasket the is attached to the orig button. a very delicate procedure as the material is very thin. be slow and extra careful. warm it up first to soften the adhesive then slowly start to peal it away. if you screw this up your done as ifixit does NOT offer this small, delicate but ESSENTIAL part.
the small connector should not be a prob. i use the apple spudger tool to lift it (to release) and push it down(lock it). it has a definite click as you push down. dont fear the apple!
cheers&aloha
