Hinge Pivoting Issues
Device screen not functioning smoothly or at all.
Blockage in Hinge
To ensure your device is moving free of any debris within the hinge, use any canned electronic duster to blow out any possible substances that may hinder the movement of the hinge.
Faulty Hinge
If the problem still persists, the laptop may need a new display hinge. Problems such as noises coming from the display hinge area (cracking, crunching) or lack of rigidity in the screen means the display hinge needs to be replaced. You can find a replacement guide for the hinge here.
Faulty Speakers
Device audio playback is malfunctioning.
Audio Distortion
If your audio sounds distorted or hushed, this may be a quick settings fix. Go to your device settings and ensure your drivers are up-to-date and audio settings are turned on. Make sure no mute buttons or volume controls are eneabled. Check the speaker holes are not obstructed and are clear of debris as well.
Lack of Audio

Cursor / Track Pad Not Responding
Movement of cursor is erratic and/or not properly functioning.
Lack of Control
Make sure the track pad is clear of any fluids or other materials that could be an hindrance to response of touch. Press firmly on pad to make sure user is engaging the track pad fully.
Pad Malfunctioning
If the track pad continues to not function to its full extent, whether that being jittery mouse control or loss of the “clicking” function in the track pad, replace the track pad using this detailed repair guide.
Headphone Jack Missing Playback
Headphone playback sounds distorted or in some cases nonexistent.
Distorted Headphone Audio
Use any electronic duster to clear the headphone jack adapter inside your Chromebook to ensure your headphone jack is clean and clear of any debris, this is to ensure the jack is receiving the correct contact on the audio channels. Go to settings and ensure you have chosen the right input for your headphones, as well as check your device compatibility through properties.
Headphone Playback Not Functioning

Device Power / Battery Life Issues
Device is not receiving power or battery has poor life.
Defective Charging Cord
Check your charging cord adapter (the one that goes into the computer) is debris-free and when plugged in has a snug fit. In addition to, Check the adapter in your computer itself has a clean and clear charging port so there is no weak link in charging the computer. If the problem persists, replace the charging cord.
Bad Battery
