The screen appears black even when the device is on.

Plug the device into the charger. If the device does not immediately turn on, wait at least 30 minutes for the device to charge. Press the power button to check if the device displays anything.

Check to make sure nothing is blocking the lens. Make sure when you take photos that your finger or other objects are not blocking the lens.
