Computer Does Not Maintain Charge
Computer does not maintain power if not connected to the adapter.
Faulty Battery
The battery may be faulty if it is unable to retain a charge. If the computer maintains power only when connected to the adapter there is an issue with the battery and you should replace it.
Whirring Sounds From The Fan
Your computer's fan makes loud, intermittent whirring sounds.
Fan Needs to be Cleaned
Dust might be building up in the fan causing it to stop and start repetitively. The area around the fan may begin to overheat as well. In this case, you will need to clean your computer's fan.
Updated BIOS
You may have updated your BIOS and the new information has changed the fan speed. In this situation, try to reset your power management and reset the BIOS on your computer. Re-installing an older BIOS version may solve the issue.
Screen Displays A Blue Screen Error Message
The computer can not move past the blue screen startup or blue screen error page.
Bad Sectors
This error may be the result of bad sectors, a failing hard drive, or physical damage to the hard drive. Bad sectors, which may simply be a software issue, can be resolved by using Windows’ Disk Check tool. If this does not work, there may be physical damage to your hard drive and you will need to replace it.
Failing Hardrive
The hard drive may simply be reaching the end of its lifetime and is beginning to fail. To determine if your hard drive is failing, you can try performing a hard drive diagnostic test. This will tell you whether the computer is fine for use or not. Stopping and starting whirring sounds and clicking noises are good indicators of a failing hard drive, in which case you need to replace the hard drive. You can also try running CHKDSK and reinstalling your operating system. If this is not possible or the blue screen continues, you will need to replace your hard drive.
