LG Xenon will not charge
You have plugged your phone in and it is still not charging.
You may have the wrong charger. To ensure you have the correct one, inspect the plug on both the charger and the phone to see if they match. If you have confirmed you have the correct charger, and it is still not working, read on.
The battery may not be in the phone correctly, try taking the battery out and putting it back in by following the LG Xenon Battery Replacement guide. The connection between the charger and phone might have also been bad, unplug your phone and plug it back in.
Clean the charger of all debris and check for any damage, then try plugging it back in. If that still does not work, the charger may be broken and you will have to replace it.
The battery may be completely dead and not able to hold a charge. You will need to replace your battery. Follow the LG Xenon Battery Replacement guide.
Nothing may be wrong with the phone. Try plugging the charger into another outlet, or flipping a switch to turn the outlet on.
LG Xenon will not turn on
You have tried turning on your phone and nothing is happening.
If your phone does not turn on, the battery may be very low on charge. Plug your phone into the charger, wait 5 minutes, and try turning on the phone. If that does not work, wait until the phone is fully charged, then try again.
If charging the battery does not do anything, the battery may be completely dead and not able to hold a charge. In this case you will need to replace the battery. Follow the LG Xenon Battery Replacement guide.
Battery connection/no battery
The battery may not be connected to the phone correctly. Open the back case, ensure there is a battery there, remove it, and put it back in. Try turning the phone on again. To complete this, follow the LG Xenon Battery Replacement guide.
If replacing the battery still does not work, there is probably something wrong with the motherboard. To remove the motherboard, follow the LG Xenon Motherboard Replacement guide. This is not something that you will be able to fix. You will need to visit your nearest store or replace the phone.
Slow/Delayed LG Xenon
The phone is lagging on transitions and is not responding quickly to commands.
The phone may be slow due to the amount of work it is trying to perform. Restart the phone and try again.
Too much stored on the phone
You may have too much information stored in the memory of your phone. Delete data (i.e. text messages, music, pictures etc.).
Needs to be put back to “normal” settings
Restore phone by resetting to factory defaults. Do this by going to the settings on the Xenon, press “Phone Settings,” and then press “Restore Settings” and “Master reset.” (CAUTION: this will erase all current settings and restore it back to the original factory settings.)
Motherboard or Network problem
If the phone is still slow, there is probably something wrong with the network or motherboard. This will require help from your network provider to fix. To remove the motherboard, follow the LG Xenon Motherboard Replacement guide.
LG Xenon is having trouble sending/receiving texts or calls
The phone takes an excessive amount of time to send and receive texts and phone calls.
Phone is working too hard
The phone may be running too many applications, or trying to do too much. Try restarting the phone.
No Network connection
The network might be down. Call your provider to assure that they are not having technical difficulties. (Also, check to ensure they are still your service provider.)
Antenna needs to be restarted
If the phone is still slow restore your phone back to factory settings essentially restarting the antenna. Go to the settings, then Phone Settings, and then press Restore Settings and Master Reset. If this does not work you will need to go to your closest network store for further help.
LG Xenon is Frozen
Phone is on, but is stuck on a screen and will not respond.
Check the white strip on the side of the battery to ensure that it is white. If it is not white, then the phone has been affected by water damage. See section on water damage below. To remove the battery, follow the LG Xenon Battery Replacement guide.
Phone needs to be restarted.
Try to restart the phone by pressing and holding the end call button. If this does not work then remove your battery, put it back in, and restart. Follow the LG Xenon Battery Replacement guide. If that does not work, try removing the SIM card and restarting the phone without the SIM card in the phone.
Buttons are broken
The buttons on the phone may be damaged. Follow the LG Xenon Keyboard Replacement guide to inspect and clean the keyboard. If that does not help, you may need to have the keyboard replaced.
If this does not work then there is a problem with the Motherboard and will need to replace it. To remove the motherboard, follow the LG Xenon Motherboard Replacement guide. This is not something that you will be able to fix. You will need to visit your nearest store or replace the phone.
Phone case is cracked, scratched, and/or indented.
It is possible that the phone was dropped causing the cracks, scratches, and/or indentations. Purchase a new case and replace the old case by following the LG Xenon Front Case/Screen Replacement guide and LG Xenon Back Case Replacement guide.
LG Xenon is Unresponsive (buttons and screen)
Pushing buttons and/or using touch screen does not have the desired effect.
Phone is off
Before opening up your phone, check that the phone is turned on. Hold the power button for at least 5 seconds and wait for phone to respond. If phone remains unresponsive, read on.
It is possible that the phone’s battery has lost charge. Plug the phone into a working outlet with the provided phone charger to see if the phone gives a response. If the phone simply does not charge, the battery is dead and you must replace it. Follow the LG Xenon Battery Replacement guide to remove the battery.
Check the white strip on the side of the battery to ensure that it is white. To remove the battery, follow the LG Xenon Battery Replacement guide. If it is not white, then the phone has been affected by water damage. See section on water damage below.
If there is a display, but pressing buttons on the keyboard has no effect, try restarting the phone. If the keyboard remains unresponsive upon restarting, then the keyboard itself may need to be replaced. Purchase a new keyboard and follow the LG Xenon Keyboard Replacement guide.
Broken Touch Screen
If there is a display but using the touch screen has no effect, try restarting the phone. If the touch screen does not function upon restarting, test the keyboard to see if the phone is actually functioning. If the keyboard still works, then the issue lies with the actual screen. To remove and replace the screen, follow the LG Xenon LCD Replacement guide.
The screen does not display any images.
The black screen may actually just be a brightness setting. Move to a shaded area to see if the phone has any display. If there is a slightly visible display, go to the tools menu on your phone. Find the selection that reads Display and press enter this should lead you to a new submenu. Scroll down to find the option for backlight and adjust your brightness accordingly.
If you move to a shaded area and the phone (turned on) is still not showing any display, then it is a problem with the LCD. To remove and replace the LCD, follow the LG Xenon LCD Replacement guide.
Distorted Images/Random Color Arrangements
The phone is on and the keyboard works, but the screen shows random color patterns or a distorted image.
If the screen is not broken and shows color or distorted images when the phone is on, the LCD below the screen is the likely location of damage. The LCD is likely to be cracked or broken and needs to be replaced. To replace the LCD, follow the LG Xenon LCD Replacement guide.
If the screen is physically cracked or broken and the LCD, audio, and keyboard appear to work properly, then the screen needs to be replaced. Follow the LG Xenon Front Case/Screen Replacement guide to replace the screen.
Check the white strip on the side of the battery to ensure that it is white. To remove the battery, follow the LG Xenon Battery Replacement guide. If it is not white, then the phone has been affected by water damage. See section on water damage.
No audio or distorted audio through speakers or headphones
The phone is on, but the audio is not working properly through the speakers or headphones.
The volume of the phone may be too soft or muted. Using the volume buttons on the side, increase the speaker volume until you can clearly hear the person on the phone.
The volume may be at the right setting, but the phone may be muted. Using the settings on the phone, remove the phone from the muted setting.
Other Person’s Phone
The audio on your phone may not be damaged at all. It may be from poor reception or the other individual’s phone. Try calling another person to see if your audio is working properly. If it is, then the first person’s phone was not working properly. If this is not the problem, try changing locations to a place with better service. This may improve the audio.
The audio of the phone may not be working due to water damage. Check the white strip on the side of the battery to ensure that it is white. To remove the battery, follow the LG Xenon Battery Replacement guide. If it is not white, then the phone has been affected by water damage. See section on water damage.
The speaker in the phone not working properly may cause the audio problems. Try restarting the phone. If this does not help, look at the problems below. The speaker may need to be replaced. To replace the speaker, LG Xenon Speaker Replacement guide.
The antenna may not be properly receiving the phone call. Check to see if you have reception. Try to relocate the phone call to a location with better reception. If this does not help, the antenna may be damaged and needs to be replaced. Go to your network store for more information and help on the antenna.
The audio may not seem to be working properly because the other person can not hear you. The microphone not correctly amplifying your voice and transmitting it to the other person’s phone might cause this. Make sure to be clearly speaking into the microphone. If the other person still can not hear you, the microphone may be damaged from being dropped or from water damage. In this case, the microphone needs to be replaced. Follow the LG Xenon Microphone Replacement guide.
The camera is broken
The camera is not working normally or at all.
It is possible that the phone’s settings may have changed and therefore you may need to reset the settings. First go to the settings and press “Phone.” Then go to “Restore Settings” and then “Master Reset.” If this is the problem then the phone might need to be restarted as well.
If the lighting and/or color are not normal or the camera is not working then the camera may be damaged. In this case the phone may need to be taken to the store for repair.
Application is not working
If the camera’s phone application is not working the problem may lie in the motherboard of the phone. If so then the phone may need to be taken to your local store to be checked. You can also follow the LG Xenon Motherboard Replacement guide to remove and replace the motherboard.
Phone has been in contact with water over a period of time.
If you think your phone is water damaged, then check the strip on the battery. To remove the battery, follow the LG Xenon Battery Replacement guide. You will see a white or pink/red strip. If the strip is white then that part is not water damaged. If the strip is pink or red then your battery and most likely the rest of the phone is water damaged. If your battery is water damaged and unresponsive, then try using a new battery before replacing the phone.
If phone is not working, then here is a technique used by many. Soak your phone in 99% Isopropyl alcohol for about two hours. Once you have done that, put your phone in a bag of uncooked rice for a few hours. In this stage the rice will absorb all the moisture and hopefully restore your phone. If your phone is not fixed then your phone should be taken to a local store for evaluation.
Memory Card Problems
LG Xenon does not save or read data.
Absent memory card
Check to see if the memory card (SIM) is inside the phone. If not then find a memory card and safely insert. To remove the back case, follow the LG Xenon Back Case Replacement guide.
Card inserted incorrectly
Safely remove the card from the device and put it back in. If this is not working then the phone may need to be restarted.
Check the settings on your phone to see if the chip has too much data in it; in this case some of the storage may need to be deleted for the phone to process it.
Memory card is broken
Try putting in a working memory card to see if it is the card reader inside the phone that is the problem or if it is the chip itself. If the chip is broken then the easy fix is to buy a new one. If the chip reader is broken then the phone needs to be taken to the store.
